Thankful and Pie in My Face!

Thankful!
As we head off for Thanksgiving Break we thought it would be a good time to share our thoughts on the importance of being Thankful! John Wooden once said “If we magnified blessings as much as we magnify disappointments, we would all be much happier”. There is so much in life to be frustrated about and there is so much that we want but don’t have. Thanksgiving, however, is a time to stop and reflect, not on what we don’t have but for what we DO have. Concentrating on what we don’t have is useless because we will never have enough. At HBB we DO have the opportunity to make a difference everyday. We are thankful for the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of so many kids and families and we hope that we are able to positively impact all our students and all our families. We take that responsibility very seriously and we work hard to make a difference, and we are very appreciative to have that opportunity.

We are also thankful for all the amazing parents and community volunteers that seek to make a difference in the school, the community and in the lives of our students and families. We have so many people that give so much of themselves for the benefit of others.

Oscar Wilde once said, “The smallest act of kindness is worth more than the grandest intention.” We create our own reality and we have the power and ability to create the world we wish to live in. Stopping to be thankful for what is good and right in our lives, expressing that gratitude and taking steps to be the change we wish to see in the world is what Thanksgiving is all about.

We wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving and thank you all for letting us be part of your lives!

Pie in the Face
Today Mrs. Lombardi's class had the chance to smash pie in my face!  All classes that had 100% participation were entered into a drawing and Mrs. Lombardi's class won.  Congratulations!!   I am still cleaning the whip cream off!
