This past Friday we had a great time at the PAW SOX game!  All students who won the Character Word of the Week award prior to March 8th received a free ticket to the game and students had the chance to go down to the field prior to the start of the game to have their name announced and they were recognized for their achievement.  It seemed as though everyone enjoyed themselves and the PAW SOX won!  Please remember we will have another celebration for all the students who have won since March 8th.  Here are a few pics from the game.

Anti Bullying Award and Kale

Congratulations goes out to two of our 5th grade students who were recently recognized at Bridgewater State College.  They entered an anti-bullying poster contest through the Mass. Aggression Reduction Center at Bridgewater State College and they were recognized for their entries.  Great job guys, we are very proud of you!

Kale Chips
This past week the cafeteria served Kale Chips made from Kale grown right in our very own garden.  The Chips were very popular and there have been a few requests for the recipe so here it is, enjoy and have a great weekend!

 * Preheat oven to 375*
    * Tear the leaves off the thick stems into bite size pieces.
    * Clean Kale and allow to dry
    * Spread kale out on a cookie sheet so it forms a single layer.
    * Drizzle about 2 tsp. of oil over kale.  (olive oil is best)
    * Sprinkle with parmesan cheese and season to taste.  ( I used
parmesan, garlic powder, onion powder, kosher salt (sea salt is best)
and pepper.)
    * Bake for approx. 10-15 minutes until edges are brown.  It cooks fast so
      keep an eye on it after 10 minutes.

Teacher Appreciation Week
We are sooooooo incredibly lucky here at HBB to be blessed with such incredible, hard working and dedicated teachers.   Next week is teacher appreciation week here at HBB!  Our PTA is organizing quite a week for our teachers and I wanted to remind the entire HBB community to say thank you if you see one of our teachers.

The teachers at HBB are an impressive group.  They work much harder than most people realize and they do it all to make sure that the children in Middleboro.....your children, get the best education possible.  I am impressed every day by the effort, hard work, compassion and patience displayed by our teachers and I can assure you, your children are in great hands when they are here!  So don't forget, if you have a moment, please reach out and thank your child's teacher!

Basketball save the date!
