Odds and Ends

Family Game Night

Last Friday the PTA sponsored and HBB and MKG Family Game Night.  It was a fun filled, free family event and everyone had a great time!

Scott Cannon

We are very excited to have Scott Cannon here again this year for Grade 3.  Scott has been working with Grade 3 students from both MKG and HBB to record their own classroom songs.  Kids have been having a blast and learning some important lessons at the same time.

Grade 3 Read In

The 3rd grade classes of Ms. Holmgren and Ms. Fecteau hosted their first grade 3 read in with students and parents.  Parents had the opportunity to come in and read with their child and by all accounts the event was a success!

Husky Haven

The students at HBB have been VERY excited that the School Store....AKA Husky Haven, has been open two times per month as of the new year.  Thank you to the PTA and our Parent Volunteers for making the Husky Haven possible.  For those new to HBB, students earn tickets for demonstrating the Burkland's Best and they get to turn those tickets in at the Husky Haven for prizes!

Character Word of the Week Winners

Lastly, and most importantly, congratulations to this week's winners!  The word for last week was Courage.

Symbol of Unity

Symbol of Unity

Today in our full day professional development Dr. Weiss unveiled the Middleboro Public School's new symbol of unity.  This incredible symbol represents the mascots from each school and speaks to the fact that, as a district, we truly recognize that Together We Will Create a Better Tomorrow.  We are much more powerful when we work together and our goal each day is to do better than the we did the day before.  The new symbol of unity will be making its way around the different schools and when it makes its way to HBB we hope you all get a chance to stop in to check it out.

BOXTOPS

Its that time of year again!  We will again be collecting BOXTOPS from February 3rd to the 14th so start clipping.  We will be sending out more information in the very near future regarding our contest for the class that collects the most but at this point we just want to let everyone know the time is coming soon!

Thank You New England Farms Exon Mobil!

This week we had a surprise visitor.......Jodi Dunton from the New England Farms Exon Mobil stopped by to award us with a $500 grant to support the children at HBB.  Thank you very much for the support!

Computer Lab in the morning

We are very excited to announce that in a couple weeks we will be opening the computer lab 2 days per week in the mornings before school for students in grades 4 and 5.  Students interested will be issued passes and allowed to come in early to access our computers.  Our goal is to begin allowing access to computers to students who may not have access at home.  There will be more information sent home regarding the process to access the lab in week's Tuesday folder.  In the meantime, if you have any questions give us a call.

Support your child in school

We talk about it all the time.  Are you wondering how to support your child's learning at home?  Are you curious what to do when your child gives you a hard time completing their homework?  If so please check out this website from PBS Parents.....you won't be disappointed.
