Donate your Halloween Candy!
Halloween Candy
Don't forget to send your extra candy into HBB. We have a collection box in the main lobby and all donated candy will be sent to the kids at the Dana Farber Cancer Institute. We have had a great collection over the past two years and we are hoping to have another successful year!
Dismissal
Attention all parents….. We need your help!!! If you are dismissing your child from school please do so before 2:45. Our office is incredibly busy at the very end of the day. We need to make sure that all of our students get to the correct destination and if we have too many parents coming in after 2:45 the office is simply too busy to adequately run our typical dismissal procedure. If you do come after 2:45 you may have to wait until pickups are called at 3:15. We appreciate your attention to this matter.
Soccer Shoot Champion
Congratulations goes to our very own Paige Rooney for winning the Massachusetts Elks State Soccer Championship for the girls U-10 division for the 3rd year in a row!!

Support Learning at Home
This year we are really hoping to push and encourage you to support learning at home. There are many things you can do as a parent that may not seem like a big deal, but you can actually have a huge impact on your child’s performance in school. Here are just a few things you can do to support learning at home.
Establish a Daily Family Routine
- Provide a quiet space, time, and materials for studying and reading.
- Assign chores and regular household tasks.
- Support good health habits: regular exercise, proper amount of rest, nutritious meals and snacks.
Encourage High but Realistic Expectations for Achievement
- Encourage your Child to work hard in school
- Regularly discuss education, life skills, careers and interests
- Regularly affirm your child’s self worth through positive messages.
Read, Write and Discuss
- Read to your child and listen to your child read
- Provide opportunities for writing (grocery lists, letters, stories to share with the family)
- Discuss with your child his or her school day, your day or current events.
Model the value of learning
- Set an example by reading at home and engaging in other learning activities.
- Play games together that require planning ahead and problem solving rather than pure luck
- Communicate openly
All of these ideas and more came from the following site.

Great Week
Attendance
Congratulations HBB....We had the Best Attendance for the month of September! Also, congratulations to Ms. Lauria's class as they are the Kings and Queens of Attendance for the month of September. The classes with the best attendance are entered into a drawing to win a celebration with Dr. Larkin and they celebrated today! Great job! Remember, while we want to encourage good attendance we do not want students coming to school who are sick!
