End of another great week!

Open House

This Wednesday from 6:30 – 8 pm is our annual Open House.  Open House is a great time to see the school, meet your child’s teacher and see what your child will be learning throughout the year.  Individual classroom presentations will begin in each class at 7 pm.

Please keep in mind that Open House is not a Parent Teacher Conference and we ask that you be respectful of the fact that we would like our teachers to be able to meet with all parents.  Should you have a concern that you do not feel can wait until your individual conference please let your child’s teacher know but understand that Open House may not be the best place to discuss your concerns.

Also this year at Open House we will have a Mini-Book Fair from Scholastic so this will be a good time to stock up on some great books for home.

We hope to see you all there!

Career Dress Up Day
Don’t forget to have your child dress like what they want to be someday on Friday September 26th!!  Did you know that students who attend school everyday, graduate from high school and college are more likely to work in the career of their choice?  Join us in encouraging the power of school and encourage your child to think about what they want to be and have them dress up and have fun with us!

TAKE THE BOXTOPS CHALLENGE

The classroom from each grade that collects the most Box Tops between September 25th-October 16th will win extra recess time including a competitive game of kick ball with Mr. Thompson and Mr. Gobeil.

Henry B. Burkland is teaming up with Box Tops for Education. Last year we brought in almost $3,000 from you clipping and sending in your Box Tops. Clip the Box Tops from hundreds of participating products and send them to school. (visit boxtops4education.com for more information). Each one is worth .10 cents when our school redeems them from Box Tops for Education.

Thank you for participating in the Box Tops Challenge!
