ODDS and ENDS

As we close out another great week here at HBB I want to let everyone know about some various odds and ends.

School Council
Our School Council has been established and last night marked our first School Council meeting.  School Council is a group consisting of an equal number of parents, teachers and myself.  Together throughout this year we will be working on developing our school improvement plan, as well as discussing other issues of importance, all with the goal of making HBB the best school it can be.  These meetings are open and parents interested in attending may come.  The meeting dates for this year are

November 1
December 13
January  3
February 7
March 21
April 4
May 2
June 6

BOX Top Contest
The winner of the tightly contested BOX Top contest is Mrs. Darcy's 3rd grade class.  Mrs. Darcy's class will be participating in a kickball contest with myself and Mr. Gobeil to celebrate all their hard work.  Thank you to all who sent in Box Tops.  Keep collecting them, we will have another contest coming up this year.

Parent Teacher Conferences
As you know we have Parent Teacher Conferences and we want to let everyone know that the YMCA will be offering free child care.  We also want to let everyone know that we will have a table at the front door for lost and found.  We have collected a lot of items so far this year so please take a moment and look for any of your child’s missing items.

Harvest Big Blast
Friday the 26th is our annual Big Blast Event and discounted tickets of $12 per family will be on sale at Parent Teacher Conferences.  Tickets will also be sold at the door for $15 per family.

JACK-O-LANTERN contest
We will be having a Jack-o-Lantern decorating contest.  Get creative and decorate a pumpkin with your family!  Entries will be displayed at the Big Blast event and during the week in the main foyer.  Drop off your creations anytime during the week in the main office.

Early Release Day
Thursday is an Early Release Day which means it is Hat Day.  $1 donations to those who wear hats are appreciated. Wear your favorite hat or a spooky themed hat!
