Last Day.....Woo Hoo!

School is finally out and we hope everyone has a safe and relaxing summer!  Thank you to everyone for making this another successful year at HBB!  We are really going to miss all our fifth graders but at the same time we are looking forward to getting a new group of first graders.  To all the students out there don't forget the Burkland's BEST this summer.....and don't forget to take some pictures from your vacations wearing your Burkland's BEST shirts!  Have a safe and happy summer!

Perfect, Perfect Attendance!

Wacky Wed!
Did we mention that this week was Spirit Week!  One of our favorites this week was Wacky Wed.  We saw some very creative outfits and this is one of our favorite pictures of the day.....Mrs. Corey greeting all the students in the morning at buses!

Only 5 more school days left......

Can you believe it?  Only 1 week to go!  It has been a fun and busy week around here and we can't believe that we only have 5 school days left.  Please remember that next week is Spirit Week.  The days are as follows.....

Monday - Flag Day (wear red, white and blue)

Tuesday - Aloha Day (wear Hawaiian clothes)

Wednesday - Wacky Wed. (mismatch clothes and crazy hair)

Thursday - Sports Pride Day

Friday - Wear your Burkland's BEST Gear!

We are looking forward to having some fun for the last week of school!

Volunteer Dinner
Last night we had the chance to provide dinner to some of the volunteers that have dedicated their time and energy to helping make HBB the best school it can be.  While we had an awesome time and were very happy to have had the chance to extend our appreciation, we also wish we could have personally thanked everyone who has given their time this year, however, we know that some of you were unable to attend.  We are so thankful and lucky to have such an amazing and supportive group of parents.  Dinner alone cannot express our gratitude and could not possibly equal the time and energy you commit to the school.  THANK YOU!

Band Concert
Tuesday was our annual MKG/HBB Band Concert and we were impressed.  It is impressive how far the kids come in one short year playing an instrument.   The kids worked hard and sounded great!  And thank you to Mrs. Iveson, Mrs. Kidd, Mrs. Michaels, Mrs. Fantasia and Mrs. Varjabedian for all your hard work!

4th Grade Crab Soccer
It's that time of the year again!  With team names like Crawford's Crazy Crab Walking Crustaceans and Mrs. Sullivan's Powerful Pachyderms who would want to miss this annual tradition?  We have had heated contests going on all week and here are some action photos!

Grade 4 was treated to a visit from the Middleboro K9 Officer this week!

Congrats to Mrs. DeLuca and Mrs. Reardon's Class!  We never thought Mrs. DeLuca's class was going to pull it out....great job!

What a busy week!

Attention all Volunteers! 

It is not too late to RSVP for our Volunteer Reception scheduled for this coming Thursday from 5-7.  Child Care will be provided by the YMCA and dinner and dessert will be served!  We really hope any and all parents who have volunteered their time this year can make it.  This is our chance to thank you for everything you do to make HBB such a great place to be!

If you can make it please rsvp to Mrs. Scanlon in the main office.

Band Concert

Thank you Rotary!

We would like to thank the Middleboro Rotary for their generous donation of $11,200 so that we were able to run the Rotary Rays Tutoring Program at both HBB and MKG.  With their generous donation we were able to offer targeted tutoring support services to almost 50 students this year during the Rotary Rays After School Program......thanks again to the Middleboro Rotary!

Field Day and 5th Grade Field Day

Thank you to all the parents who made this year's field day a huge success.  The kids and staff clearly had a great time and we appreciate all the time and energy that went into planning this awesome event!  We also had our 5th grade field day this week....boy this week was busy!  Here are some pics from the events!

Last of the 3rd Grade Plays!

This week MRs. Card's and Ms. Fecteau's classes had their performance of the 3rd grade play and they did a great job!  Thank you again to Mrs. Michaels, Mrs. Iveson and Mrs. Kidd for pulling it all together.....great job everyone!
